Salem Interior Design Leader Kim McOwan

Based in Salem, Massachusetts, Kim McOwan is the principal and lead interior designer at Charette Interior Design, Ltd. For more than 16 years, she has managed design direction and strategy for the company, a task that requires constant communication and collaboration with industry partners and a range of clients. Salem resident Kim McOwan has gained experience in many areas of business, ranging from contract negotiations to project documentation management.

Ms. McOwan has balanced her work at Charette Design with other industry roles. She has served as interiors creative director and senior interior designer at Treehouse Design, Inc., and as the senior interior designer at Carpenter and MacNeille in Essex.

Ms. McOwan joined the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority during her time as a psychology and English literature student at the University of California in Santa Barbara. While earning a certificate in interior and environmental design from UCLA Extension's FiDER accredited program, she was the recipient of a scholarship through The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality. Throughout her time at UCLA, she worked on campus as a teaching assistant for drafting courses and participated in an internship with Ellerbe Becket Architecture.
